Dimensions / Industrial & logistics / IBC totes / 275 gallon
A 275-gallon IBC tote holds 1,000 litres nominal, 1,060 l brimful, and measures 1200 × 1000 × 1160 mm (Schütz ECOBULK MX 1000); US sellers list it as 48 × 40 × 46 in. Heights run 1135–1175 mm by maker and pallet: Werit’s TOPline is 1135–1164 mm, Time Technoplast’s 1155–1175 mm. Empty, Schütz’s weighs 56 kg on a steel pallet and 59 kg on plastic, and it takes liquids up to density 1.9. A real mark reads 31HA1/Y/…/4056/2037: 4056 kg stacking test load and 2037 kg maximum gross mass. Fill to no more than 98% at 50 °C (RID), and plan 18 per 20 ft container (Mauser).

Schütz’s MX 1000 UN FDA and its mark are filled in, two high in Triton’s 20 ft. Enter your fill and density; each check uses the numbers in the tables on this page.
Sizes in millimetres, weights in kilograms. The UN mark ends with the stacking test load and the maximum gross mass in kg; a stacking test load of 0 means not stackable.
1000 L × 1 kg/L + 55 kg empty = 1055 kg, 982 kg under the 2037 kg maximum permissible gross mass.
Filled in: Schütz’s MX 1000 UN FDA, marked …/4056/2037/1060L/55KG. Its brimful capacity is 1,060 l; leave room, since RID caps the fill at 98% at 50 °C.
2 high puts 1 full totes, 1055 kg, on the bottom one. Its 4056 kg stacking test load ÷ 1.8 allows 2253 kg on top: 1198 kg to spare.
Schütz’s MX data sheet: two-high in transport up to density 1.5, one-high above; up to 4-high standing still.
One layer takes 9 totes of 1200 × 1000 mm; 2 high that is 18, enough for your 18, and 18990 kg is within the 28380 kg payload.
Mauser puts 18 totes in a 20 ft container, or 20 on its wooden ISO container pallet; Triton’s 20 ft is 2,393 mm high inside.

1200 × 1000 × 1160 mm for Schütz’s ECOBULK MX 1000, or 48 × 40 × 46 in as US sellers list it. Other makers’ heights run 1135–1175 mm: Werit 1135–1164 mm, Jieyuan 1145 mm, Time Technoplast 1155–1175 mm.
Yes. Schütz sells it as 1,000 litres (275 gal) nominal, with a brimful capacity of 1,060 l; Greif quotes the 275-gallon tote as 1,040 liters.
Empty, 56 kg on a steel pallet or 59 kg on plastic (Schütz MX 1000), 57–63 kg for Werit and 75 kg for Schütz’s SX-D. Full, the ceiling is the maximum gross mass on its mark, for example 2037 kg.
Schütz allows its MX two-high in transport up to density 1.5 and one-high above, and up to 4-high in storage. Under RID the mass on the stacking symbol may not exceed the stacking test load ÷ 1.8.
A leakproofness test and an outside check every 2.5 years, and an internal inspection every 5 years (RID 6.5.4.4, 49 CFR 180.352). For dangerous goods the plastic bottle may be used for five years from its date of manufacture (RID 4.1.1.15).
18, says Mauser, or 20 on its wooden ISO container pallet. Two high they stand 2,320 mm at 1160 mm each, inside the 2,393 mm of Triton’s 20 ft.
Buyers of chemicals, oils and food liquids ask the tote’s make and UN mark, the date of its last test, the filled weight and whether it ships two high.
