Dimensions / Industrial & logistics / IBC totes / Stainless steel
A stainless steel IBC is a metal tote tank (UN code 31A) standing on four corner legs, and it is sized in gallons. US makers build it on a 48 × 42 in base: at Mauser a 350-gallon (1325 L) tote is 47 in tall and weighs 470 lbs (213 kg), a 550-gallon (2082 L) one 71 in and 645 lbs; Snyder’s 350-gallon Liquitote is 51 in tall and carries 6,030 lbs gross. In Europe Schäfer builds on 1,215 × 1,015 or 1,200 × 1,000 mm, from 1,080 mm (500 l) to 2,050 mm (1,530 l) tall. A metal IBC may hold 450 to 3,000 L (49 CFR 178.705); Titan’s 575-gallon certificate reads 8709 kg stacking test load and 4,688.9 kg maximum gross, two stacked in transport.

Titan’s 575-gallon tote and its UN certificate are filled in, one high in Triton’s 20 ft. Enter your fill and density; each check uses the numbers in the tables on this page.
Sizes in millimetres, weights in kilograms. The UN mark ends with the stacking test load and the maximum gross mass in kg; a stacking test load of 0 means not stackable.
2000 L × 1.2 kg/L + 294 kg empty = 2694 kg, 1995 kg under the 4689 kg maximum permissible gross mass.
Filled in: Titan’s 575 gallon certificate, 31A/Y/…/8709/4685, maximum permissible gross mass 4,688.9 kg, tested at specific gravity 1.96.
One high: nothing stands on the tote.
The same certificate allows 2 totes stacked in transport; its stack test lasts 5 minutes, as for every metal IBC (RID).
One layer takes 9 totes of 1219 × 1067 mm; 1 high that is 9, enough for your 9, and 24246 kg is within the 28380 kg payload.
At 1,816 mm to the top head this tote goes one high in a 20 ft; Schäfer fits 40 of its 1,200 × 1,000 mm frameless totes in a 40 ft high cube.

Buyers who rent or buy stainless totes ask the gallon size, the base and height, the empty and gross weight, the manway and valve, and what the plate says. Mark the real tote, manway and valve on your own product photo in SizeMarker, as in the picture at the top, and send one product card for WhatsApp or WeChat.
