Dimensions / Furniture / Coffee tables / Square
A square coffee table is usually 76–122 cm (30–48 in) on each side and 41–46 cm (16–18 in) tall. It suits seating on more than one side, such as a large sectional or two sofas facing each other, because everyone can reach it; with a standard sofa the usual size is 91 × 91 cm (36 × 36 in).

Enter the table, your sofa and the space in front of it. The table goes in the middle, in front of the sofa; each check uses the numbers in the tables on this page.
All in centimetres. 1 in = 2.54 cm.
Set 36 cm from the sofa, the table leaves 84 cm on the far side, and a walkway needs 76 cm.
With a sectional, check the open side too: people walk round three sides of a square table.
At 90 cm it is no longer than two-thirds of your 210 cm sofa (140 cm).
A square table is sized smaller than half the sofa, so only the upper limit applies.
At 41 cm it is 3 cm below your 44 cm sofa seat, within 5 cm.
Measure the sofa seat at the top of the cushion, where you sit.

76–122 cm (30–48 in) on each side and 41–46 cm (16–18 in) tall. IKEA’s HEMNES is 90 × 90 × 46 cm.
Flowyline pairs a 76 × 76 cm (30 × 30 in) table with a 152–183 cm (60–72 in) loveseat, 91 × 91 cm (36 × 36 in) with a 198–213 cm (78–84 in) sofa, and 122 × 122 cm (48 × 48 in) with a large sectional.
When the seating wraps round it: a large sectional, two sofas facing each other or a symmetrical layout. Castlery’s point is that a square gives everyone equal access.
Yes, when the L has a wide open side: a square table then feels centred and reachable from several seats. Living Spaces also suggests square or rectangular tables for U-shaped sectionals.
Square tables over 102 cm (40 in) need more clearance on all sides, so they suit spacious living rooms; keep 76–91 cm (30–36 in) between the table and the TV stand.
Square tables are bought for sectionals and seating on several sides, so buyers ask for the side length and the clearance it needs. Mark the real size on your own product photo in SizeMarker, as in the picture at the top, and send one product card for WhatsApp or WeChat.
