An HEB (HE B, in German IPB) is Europe’s wide-flange H section to EN 10365. Up to HE 300 B its height and width both equal the number: HE 200 B is 200 × 200 mm with a 9.0 mm web and 15.0 mm flanges, 61.3 kg/m; HE 300 B is 300 × 300 mm and 117 kg/m. Above that the flange stays 300 mm: HE 400 B is 400 × 300 mm (155 kg/m) and HE 1000 B 1000 × 300 mm (314 kg/m). Only the B series carries its number as its height: HE 300 A is 290 mm (88.3 kg/m) and HE 300 M 340 × 310 mm (238 kg/m). A 12 m HE 300 B weighs 1,404 kg, so 19 fill ONE’s 40 ft box at 26,840 kg. China’s JG/T 581 H-beam of the same 200 × 200 mm weighs 49.87 kg/m.

Twenty HE 300 B bars of 11.8 m for a 40 ft high cube and a section measured on one bar are filled in; put in your own count, length or readings to see the box, the payload and EN 10034 answer.
Box lengths and payloads are the ones ONE prints; weights are theoretical, the way European mills invoice sections, with no allowance for the mass tolerance.
At 11.8 m the beam is 11,800 mm long. A 40 ft high cube box is 12,032 mm inside at ONE and at least 11,998 mm under ISO 668, so it goes in end-on with 232 mm to spare.
An 11.8 m bar has 198 mm to spare even in a box built to the ISO minimum.
20 × HE 300 B at 11.8 m and 117 kg/m is 27,612 kg, within the 28,800 kg payload ONE prints for its 40 ft high cube box; by weight the box takes up to 20.
HE 300 B at 117 kg/m; ONE’s 40 ft high cube carries 28,800 kg, 1,960 kg more than its 40 ft dry box.
HE 300 B is 300 × 300 mm; EN 10034 allows +4 / −2 mm on the depth and ±4 mm on the flange width, so 298–304 by 296–304 mm. Yours, 299 × 302 mm, is within both.
EN 10034 for HE 300 B: height +4 / −2 mm; the 300 mm flange ±4 mm.

No. Above HE 300 B the flange stays 300 mm: HE 400 B is 400 × 300 mm and HE 1000 B 1000 × 300 mm.
Same number and inner height, different flanges: HE 300 A is 290 mm and 88.3 kg/m, HE 300 B 300 mm and 117 kg/m, HE 300 M 340 × 310 mm and 238 kg/m. Only HE B is as high as its number.
The German name for HE B; HE A is IPB I and HE M IPB V (Peiner Träger). DIN 1025-2, the old IPB standard, is withdrawn in favour of EN 10365.
Not by weight. JG/T 581 lists a 200 × 200 mm H section, JH200×200×8×12, at 49.87 kg/m, 18.6% lighter than HE 200 B at 61.3 kg/m, with a thinner web and flanges.
By payload, 19 bars of 12 m (1,404 kg each) in ONE’s 40 ft box at 26,840 kg, or 20 in a high cube at 28,800 kg; spread them along the floor.
Buyers of HEB name the series letter as well as the number, since HE 300 A, B and M weigh 88.3, 117 and 238 kg/m; they want the grade, the bar length against the box, the bundle and the heat number, and a Chinese section offered against HEB must say so. Mark those on your own bar in SizeMarker, as in the picture at the top, and share the card.
