Dimensions / Building materials / Kitchen sinks / Double-bowl sink
A double-bowl kitchen sink has two bowls, each with its own drain. The US doubles found run 30 to 35-1/2 in wide, and the stainless and composite 32 to 33 in ones all need a 36 in cabinet (Kraus, Kohler, Ruvati, Blanco); Ruvati’s 30 in doubles and Kohler’s cast-iron 33 in Brookfield take 33 in. "50/50" means two equal bowls, 13-1/2 in each in a 30 in sink and up to 15-1/2 in in a 33 in one; "60/40" is a label, printed as 18 + 12 or 18 + 11 in at 32 in; "70/30" appears only on Ruvati’s RVM5300, 18-1/2 + 10 in. The bowls can differ in depth, 10 and 8 in on Kraus KHU123-32, and low-divide models drop the middle wall to about 6 in.

Cabinet minimums are each maker’s printed figure for that model, counter room is installer guidance, and the accessibility rules are the US ones. Sizes in inches.
Kraus KHU123-32 prints a minimum base cabinet of 36 in (914 mm) for this 32 in sink; your cabinet is 36 in.
Ruvati’s 30 in doubles take a 33 in cabinet; Kohler’s 35-1/2 in double still takes 36 in.
Ruvati says most installers want 1-1/2 to 3 in of counter in front of an undermount sink and 3 to 5 in behind, so a sink 20 in front to back needs a counter at least 24-1/2 in (622 mm) deep; yours is 25-1/2 in, 1 in to spare.
Kraus KHU123-32 is 20 in front to back and prints a 21 in front-to-back cabinet minimum.
ADA 2010, 606.3, puts the front of the rim or counter at no more than 34 in (865 mm) above the floor; yours is 34 in. The 2010 Standards set no limit on bowl depth.
UFAS: only one bowl of a double has to be 6-1/2 in deep or less.

Usually 36 in: the stainless and composite 32 to 33 in doubles here all print 36 in (Kraus, Kohler, Ruvati, Blanco). Ruvati’s 30 in doubles take 33 in, and Kohler’s cast-iron Brookfield, 33 in wide, takes a 33 in cabinet.
A label for unequal bowls, not an exact ratio: Kraus’s 32 in 60/40 sinks have 18 + 12 or 18 + 11 in bowls, Ruvati’s 18 + 11 in; Kohler just says large/medium.
13-1/2 in in a 30 in sink (Ruvati RVH7350), 14-7/8 in in Kraus’s 32-3/4 in KHU102-33 and 15-1/2 in in its 33 in KHT302-33.
One with a lower wall between the bowls so big pans fit: Kraus’s KHT302-33 has a divider about 6 in high in 10 in deep bowls.
Yes: the 2010 ADA Standards need knee clearance under only one bowl, and UFAS needs only one bowl 6-1/2 in deep or less. None of the doubles found has a bowl under 7 in, though.
Not always: Kraus KHU123-32 is 10 and 8 in deep, Ruvati RVM5300 9 and 7 in.
A buyer of double-bowl sinks asks for the overall size, each bowl’s width and depth and the split, the divide height, both drain positions, the minimum cabinet, the mounting and cut-out, the gauge, and the carton size and weight. Mark those on a photo of your own sink with SizeMarker, like the picture at the top, and share one card in WhatsApp or WeChat.
