A farmhouse (apron-front) sink shows its front: the apron replaces the top of the cabinet face, so the cabinet is cut or built for it. Kohler’s Whitehaven sinks are 29-1/2 to 35-3/4 in wide and fit cabinets only 1/4 to 1/2 in wider (30 and 36 in), while Blanco’s 33 in IKON needs 36 in and IKEA’s 25 in HAVSEN sits on a 24 in frame. Aprons are 8-13/16 or 6-11/16 in tall at Kohler, 9 in on Kraus stainless and 10 in on Kraus fireclay and Blanco IKON; Kohler wants 9 in or 6-7/8 in from the cabinet top to the doors. The sink sits on a frame inside the cabinet that Kohler rates for at least 300 lb (136 kg).

It depends on the maker: Kohler’s 29-3/4 and 35-3/4 in Whitehaven sinks fit 30 and 36 in cabinets, but Blanco’s 33 in IKON needs 36 in and IKEA’s 25 in HAVSEN sits on a 24 in frame.
Kohler makes tall 8-13/16 in and short 6-11/16 in aprons; Kraus’s stainless aprons are 9 in and its fireclay ones 10 in, like Blanco’s IKON.
A short-apron one, yes: Kohler’s short aprons fit a standard base cabinet once the false drawer front and rail come out. Tall aprons need an apron sink base cabinet.
Makers rarely print it. Superior Sinks puts a full fireclay sink at about 300 lb, and Kohler asks a frame for at least 300 lb (136 kg).
Kohler asks at least 9 in from the cabinet top to the door top for its tall aprons and 6-7/8 in for short ones; the gap must be more than the apron height.
No maker prints a tolerance, and none ships a template: Kraus, Ruvati and Superior Sinks say the size varies, so the cabinet maker works from the actual sink.
A buyer of apron-front sinks asks for the width and front to back, the apron height, the bowl size and depth, the wall thickness, the minimum cabinet and whether it needs an apron base cabinet, the drain position, whether the apron is reversible, and the crate size and weight. Mark those on a photo of your own sink with SizeMarker, like the picture at the top, and share one card in WhatsApp or WeChat.
