The UK/EU standard brick is 215 × 102.5 × 65 mm — or 225 × 112.5 × 75 mm with a 10 mm mortar joint. The US modular brick is 8 × 4 × 2 2/3 in nominal, about 7 5/8 × 3 5/8 × 2 1/4 in (194 × 92 × 57 mm) actual.
A brick is specified by three dimensions in length × width (bed depth) × height order, measured on the unit as laid as a stretcher.

A spec table only helps if the buyer reads it. Many don't — shoppers routinely try to judge a product's size straight from the images, and wrong size or fit is the most-cited reason things get returned. The fix is to mark the real dimensions on the photo itself, where the buyer is already looking.
SizeMarker snaps dimension lines to the brick's edges and exports at Amazon or Alibaba size, so the measurement is accurate and legible — not a guess typed over the picture. That answers the size question up front and cuts pre-sale questions and size-driven returns.

In the UK and EU a standard brick is 215 × 102.5 × 65 mm (8.46 × 4.03 × 2.56 in) per BS EN 771-1. In the US the most common (modular) brick has a nominal size of 8 × 4 × 2 2/3 in (203 × 102 × 68 mm).
Per BIA Technical Notes 10, the nominal size is the specified unit plus its mortar joint, rounded to 4-in or 8-in modules; the specified size is the manufactured size without mortar (used on purchase orders); and the actual size is the as-made size, within ASTM C216 tolerances.
The US modular brick is 8 × 4 × 2 2/3 in nominal (203 × 102 × 68 mm). Its specified/actual size with a 3/8 in joint is 7 5/8 × 3 5/8 × 2 1/4 in, or 194 × 92 × 57 mm (BIA TN 10).
Adding a 10 mm mortar joint to the 215 × 102.5 × 65 mm work size gives a coordinating size of 225 × 112.5 × 75 mm, so four courses equal 300 mm (Brick Development Association).
Both are non-modular US sizes with no nominal dimension. A Queen brick is about 7 5/8–8 × 2 3/4–3 × 2 3/4 in and a King brick about 9 5/8–9 3/4 × 2 3/4–3 × 2 5/8–2 3/4 in, varying by maker (BIA TN 10, Fig. 3).
China's standard clay brick is 240 × 115 × 53 mm (9.45 × 4.53 × 2.09 in, GB/T 5101). India's modular brick per IS 1077 is 190 × 90 × 90 mm (7.48 × 3.54 × 3.54 in), with a common non-modular size of 230 × 110 × 70 mm.
Every figure on this page is traced to a named source, linked under each table. Standard sizes come from published standards and established industry references; where a size is a typical range or varies by manufacturer, we say so. Sizes vary by region, model and revision — treat these as the standard reference, and confirm the exact spec of the item you are selling.
