A standard ergonomic office chair follows BIFMA G1: seat height adjusts 37.6–51.2 cm (14.8–20.2 in), seat width ≥48.9 cm (19.2 in), seat depth ≤41.5 cm (16.3 in), backrest ≥35.4 cm (13.9 in), and armrests roughly 18–29 cm (7–11.5 in).
An office task chair is specified along adjustable axes — seat height (floor to seat pan), seat width and seat depth — plus backrest height/width and armrest height.

A spec table only helps if the buyer reads it. Many don't — shoppers routinely try to judge a product's size straight from the images, and wrong size or fit is the most-cited reason things get returned. The fix is to mark the real dimensions on the photo itself, where the buyer is already looking.

BIFMA G1-2013 specifies an adjustable seat height of 37.6–51.2 cm / 14.8–20.2 in, and ANSI/HFES 100-2007 allows 38–56 cm / 15–22 in. In practice, the Steelcase Leap v2 adjusts 40.6–52.1 cm / 16–20.5 in.
BIFMA G1-2013 recommends a minimum seat-pan width of 48.9 cm / 19.2 in — up from the older 45.7 cm / 18.0 in — to fit 90th-percentile female and 97th-percentile male hip breadth. ANSI/HFES 100-2007 sets a lower floor of 45.0 cm / 17.7 in.
BIFMA G1-2013 caps fixed seat depth at 41.5 cm / 16.3 in (ANSI/HFES 100 allows up to 43 cm / 16.9 in), and at least 10 mm / 0.4 in should stay clear behind the knees.
BIFMA G1-2013 requires a backrest at least 35.4 cm / 13.9 in high above the compressed seat and 36.0 cm / 14.2 in wide; ANSI/HFES 100-2007 calls for at least 45 cm / 17.7 in of back height.
Adjustable armrests typically span about 18–29 cm / 7–11.5 in above the seat: the Steelcase Leap v2 adjusts 17.8–27.9 cm / 7–11 in and the Herman Miller Aeron B adjusts 19.0–29.2 cm / 7.5–11.5 in.
A premium task chair footprint is roughly 62.9–71.9 cm / 24.75–28.3 in deep by 68.6–71.9 cm / 27–28.3 in wide, so allow about 70 cm / 28 in square of clearance.
